Versatility...

Competent surfing on unlikely equipment. Not the most fluid surfing, but can you imagine how difficult this would be? No fins, no rocker, not enough length to get you into waves. It's that miraculous and terrible invention, the boogie board! I searched out this video after reading/watching this. Thanks Pranaglider!

Rippin'.

How much more fun does that boogie look than the boring-just-standing-there-longboarder!

Getting chased by a boogie boarder at Malibu and then blowing it...classic. You know, a lot of folks bag on boogie boards and there's a stigma, etc. But some of my best childhood memories are tied to my old morey 132 and ocean beach closeout barrels as an 11 year-old. I rode one at Cherry Ave. two summers ago since we had a couple families, kids, etc. And it was FUN. It had been a long time, but I keep telling myself I should get one for unruly hollow days. Gets you in the water and it's nice being low and close. Thanks for the post.

Is the boogieboard the next up-to-date surfboard's shape ?

that just shows: flat, wide and short can really surf...

GO FISH !!! ;)

Once I get over this silly obsession with the mat I wouldn't mind a few sessions on a boogie. That first vid with the guy surfing what kinda looks like OTW is very good.
